Social Recreational Services — Restoration
Dear San Gabriel/Pomona Regional Center (SG/PRC), Self-Advocates, Families and Stakeholders:
We are so very proud of our shared advocacy and triumphant chorus that resulted in the restoration of regional center funding for social recreational services; camp, associated travel and non-medical therapies including specialized recreation, art, dance, and music. These services are low cost, high value and support the health and wellness of individuals that are served through SG/PRC.
SG/PRC funding for these services is not available for children under the age of three (3) that are served through Early Intervention Services. All individuals served through SG/PRC over the age of three (3) under provisional or ongoing Lanterman eligibility may have social recreational services included in their Individual Program Plan (IPP) and funded through SG/PRC according to regional center purchase of service policies intended to advance uniformity, consistency, and equity ( see WIC Section 4620.3). However, individuals served might need these services before the service standard development and approval process has been completed. Indeed, SG/PRC funding for these services is available in the interim. If you are interested in these services, please contact your Service Coordinator.
