JOB FUNCTIONS
Under the general direction of the Information Technology (IT) Manager, the System Administrator is responsible for supporting the agency’s computing environment by identifying network requirements; installing upgrades; and monitoring network performance of the servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, IP phones, smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains the integrity of the network, server deployment, and security.
- Provides expertise and support for virtual technologies (VMware, Vsphere)
- Ensure network connectivity throughout a company’s LAN/WAN infrastructure
- Monitor & test system performance and provide solutions for any problems identified
- Work with IT staff and end users providing outstanding customer service
- Provide appropriate system & process documentation
- Help ensure that the agency is in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Develop training materials, procedures, and train users in the proper use of hardware and software.
- Refer major hardware/software problems or defects to vendors or technicians for service.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILIES
- SQL system administration experience
- Security Certificate experience
- Must have experience documenting
- Virtual Machine (VM) experience to include general use of VMs.
- VMware, Linux, or Cisco Certification a plus
- Understanding of networking concepts (Switches, VPLS, VPN’s, VLANS, Wireless)
- Working knowledge of common IT infrastructure components (AD, DHCP, DNS, Group policy, WSUS, PKI etc.)
- Ability to troubleshoot network issues including backbone infrastructure
- Experience with Office 365 administration which includes OneDrive, SharePoint

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other related field; plus, five years of related experience as Network Administrator. An additional five years of related experience may be substituted in lieu of bachelor’s degree. Must have Windows System Administration experience that includes loading, securing, and testing, operation and maintenance of the Operating System and software.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Employees using a private vehicle for agency purposes must maintain a valid driver’s license and minimum liability insurance coverage.
SALARY
Monthly Salary Range: $3,378.27 – $5,725.20
