The Regional Center is responsible for ensuring that the applicant meets licensing and/or Title 17 requirements for vendorization, determining the appropriate category for the service to be provided, and approving or disapproving vendorization based upon their review of the documentation submitted by the applicant.
Service provider requirements are based on service provider standards set by the State Department of Developmental Services and described in Title 17 regulations for residential and non-residential services: DDS Laws and Regulations.
The general vendorization requirements for all service categories are specified in Title 17, California Code of Regulations, Sections 54300 – 54390: Community Services. The requirements may vary from one service type to another so it’s important to look at the requirements for the service code/type you are interested in pursuing.
